SmartDok is a software company headquartered in Alta, Norway. We currently have 66 employees divided between sales, support, development and testing, marketing and finance.
We have offices in Alta, Oslo, Bergen and Stockholm. Our product is like the name of the company, SmartDok.

We got our first customer back in 2007. Then we had two employees. Today, over 3,750 customers later, we continue to grow and hire talented forward-thinking people who love to help create something.
It started in 2005 long before the mobile phone became man’s extended arm and long before concepts such as apps and smartphones became common property. The company was founded as Ascella AS in August 2005 and had a vision to develop smart solutions that simplified people’s everyday lives.
After 2 years of intense work with the pilot project SmartDok, the system for the contractor, the first paying customer arrived in 2007.
Ascella AS was also behind other smart solutions such as EasyCoach and Time overview, but as SmartDok grew bigger and better, we found that we should only focus on the system that has helped over 3,750 companies and 75,000 users to simplify their everyday working life.

Why SmartDok?

SmartDok is the most used solution in the building and construction industry, and it is not without reason. The solution consists of modules that give you an overview and simple control over man and machine hours, HSE/KS system, product consumption, service and maintenance of machines, document hotel, tool overview, documentation in the form of pictures and checklists, driving book, break lists and more.
All in one app!
The system is web-based and there are separate apps for iPhone and Android that allow you to use the solution also from a mobile phone. This means that you don’t have to think about updating, backing up data and all other problems that you might have with installing and operating the solution in your own server park. The only thing you need to use the solution is a PC with a browser and internet access, simple and straightforward!
In 2018, Visma became the majority owner of SmartDok. SmartDok thus became Visma’s cloud-based software solution for the building and construction industry. SmartDok will continue to be SmartDok, same name, same org.no. and not least the same dedicated employees, but with a major player behind us which means that we are even stronger than before.

For us, the customer is always in focus, and with the help of commitment, reliability and the ability to simplify, we will continue to make history!
